Joanne Powell is running for Worcester's 6th district.



Joanne Powell is a longtime resident of Charlton and former vice-chairman of the Dudley-Charlton Regional School Committee. She has also played active roles in the Charlton Little League and St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton, where she served as Religious Education Director.

Most recently Joanne was a community liaison for District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr., a position she left to run for state representative. In her capacity as an outreach coordinator, Joanne spoke with students, parents, school staff and law enforcement about public safety challenges, including bullying, dating violence, Internet safety and substance abuse.

Joanne is a graduate of Salem State University, and has a master’s degree in business administration from Assumption College. Joanne and her husband Rick have four sons and one daughter.
