A good friend once told me: If you're invited to dinner and there's no seat at the table, then you're probably on the menu.
This coming Monday, May 2nd at 6:00 pm, the State Redistricting Committee will be holding a public hearing at Massasoit Conference Center on drawing new districts for State Senate and Representative seats, as well as for the U.S. Congress.
Political redistricting happens every ten years following the U.S. Census.
What does this mean for you? Well, at the end of the process, some Brockton residents could have new state elected officials and a new Congressperson.
Before these changes happen, you need to let the Redistricting Committee know how you want to be represented in Brockton--a chance to advocate for new districts that better reflect your neighborhood.
Please show up and have a seat at the table to ask questions and express your ideas so you don't end up on the menu!
See you this coming Monday.
