Originally in GD/P:
At the intersection of 138 and 123. The official count was 85 people-just standing on the sidewalk at the traffic lights in the suburbs - all ages, with candles, flags and signs. There was a lot of supportive honking and only a few thumbs down/"birds" given. Mostly from young men.....
One man tried to confront the group, "how dare we stand out here", you're all just liberal Democrats, traitors, etc. Luckily, he spoke his piece and just left.
I had originally planned to go into Boston but decided that "hometowns" is where people need to be seen. Just as Cindy has put a "face" to our concerns on a national/global! level, so can we alongside our neighbors. I'd say 97% of the passers by were supportive.
8/18 note:
I checked online today and saw that we made the Brockton Enterprise!!-not page 1, but since it's a rather right-leaning paper....:woohoo:
