My guess is that environmental and Great Lakes protection issues swayed them.

He did well in Kent, Branch, and on the east side, Sanilac, Lapeer and St. Clair. I know I'm missing some places, but t wasn't that many. I thought Granholm would lose most of the smaller northern lower peninsula and UP counties. Not at all.
