Vold puts the continuing sporadic violence in perspective. Most of Iraq, he says, is quiet. "Baghdad is a vibrant city, the size of Chicago's metro area. A bomb goes off -- it's a bad thing, but it's like we're sitting in Eden Prairie and a bomb goes off in Andover. The police investigate, people go about their business. Rush hour is one big traffic jam." As the violence escalates and we had 5 more Americans and 60 Iraqi's killed today! GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK! These people are insane.

| 3. Let's say a bomb went off . . . |
|
. . . in any mega-mall in this country. The next day virtually all shopping malls would likely be near empty.

| 6. She should interview a Jr. enlisted man, a PFC of L/CPL. |
|
The Colonel has a much different perspective than a Marine who walks patrol every night. Officers have to paint a rosier picture to boost troop morale.

| 7. She, like all reThugs, refuses to be influenced by factual information. |

She repeated the fat lie about Bob Casey being denied an opportunity to speak at the 1992 DNC because he is anti-choice (when actually it was because he did not support the Clinton-Gore ticket - there were 3 or 4 speakers there who are anti-choice); she made the blanket claim in a column a few days ago that none of the war protesters has the perspective of her exclusive interviews with soldiers who have been to Iraq (ignoring the fact that there are MANY veterans against the war); she constantly tries to make a connection between Iraq and 9/11, when none exists other than the fact that Chimpy, Cheney the Dick and the neocon goons of the PNAC allowed 9/11 to happen so they could attempt to justify the war on Iraq... One of the young men she interviewed several months ago, about the conditoins at Guantanamo, is the son of my first cousin and her hubby, and it really pains me to see the support that these otherwise fine people have for this filthy, lying, corrupt administration. He's in Kuwait now, was unable to be with the rest of the family at the funeral of his grandmother last week, and I pray he will be safe, but if, God forbid, something does happen to him, I hope his family is not surprised...they have in part brought this on themselves by their support of this warmongering, anything-BUT-pro-life naked emperor.
