please help answer the question DU-er oly asks: 'What's going on in St Paul? When I lived in Roseville a few years ago, St Paul was reasonably progressive. Is it still? What about MN in general?' oly's thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=160&topic_id=1572&mesg_id=1575&page=

1. Isn't that just sad??? I have always taken pride in the fact that we were

the only state that didn't go for Ray-guns ... And now the Chimpster is coming to Mankato and holy shit, the hoops one had to jump through to try to get tickets: desparate efforts being made to keep protesters out, natch, the little horror being too terra-fied to face any kind of dissent... what a weenie.

3. it was bad enough that bush handpicked Coleman to run against

Paul Wellstone - and the horrific result of that interference in a state election.
Now what the hell is Rove up to in Minnesota? Kelly's borg-like mantra (We must stay the course) is the result of clammy, greedy Repub hands pawing all over our state.
It seems like a big game board - first they move Kelly over to pro-Bush, then what - what's the next move?

2. St. Paul is still extremely liberal, but appears to be hit by DINO mayors

Coleman was the first, and I believe this idiot was his handpicked successor.
This almost certainly seals his defeat in the primaries next year, so I'm wondering if he plans on pulling a Coleman, switching parties and then running against Dayton.
Don't worry though, I bet the vast majority of St. Paul residents are very embarassed of his sorry ass right now.

I think he knows that he's headed for a spectularly embarassing defeat in 2005 and he's looking to suck up to his bosses at the Chamber of Commerce.

6. I don't think he'll run against Dayton
|
Mark Kennedy is the one annointed to do that. - Though who knows what will happen to that plan if Patty Wetterling beats him.
Ya think they're pumping something into the air at St. Paul City Hall?
