| Any stories on Kelly's popularity? |

I haven't found any or any polls, but I've heard that was very unpopular even before his treason, and has basically been fighting with the city council and DFL leadership since he took office.

Now he's got Pawlenty and the good ol' boy squad on his side. He'll probably be mixing it up with Zell "Red" Miller sooner or later.
Chances are, he'll be sitting pretty in the senate from votes cast by suburan Redumblicans that think the Patriot Act exists to protect their privacy.

Hey, it worked for Normie. of course Kelly will switch, though he may wait a while, as he is more valuable to his GOP masters posing as a DFLer supporting Bush. I wonder what they promised him for this?
as an aside, I have actually had a Republican friend with close ties to the leadership tell me: Coleman's prime motivation is his personal ambition. As a DFLer, he looked around to see how many people were ahead of him in the party pecking order, at least in terms of becoming a candidate for one of the big-time offices, such as governor or senator. He found three, maybe four ahead of him in the DFL; over in the GOP, there were but one or two.
Presto! Norm's a Republican. Looks like Kelly is the second verse.
