I got FOUR calls today from them, no less.
I told them MONTHS ago to bugger off; YEARS ago via writing to stop calling because I do not want their paper. x(

sad news about circulation down in all major (and perhaps minor) newspapers.
People today get their news - if at all - via the Internet or, worse - sound bites on TV. A few weeks ago on the Al Franken someone reported about a poll. They were interested in the percentage that did not have an opinion about some aspect of the war - I don't remember the details. Of those many just did not follow the news but when they probed further, they did get their news from someplace..

after watching the N.Y. Times support the Iraq war, basically ignore the 2000 and 2004 election irregularities and generally abandon their journalistic responsibility in the face of the BushCo junta.
My BIL, who holds the Times in very high regard, was *extremely* shocked to find out that our (trivial, in his estimation) local paper opposed the war. I'm sure they are constantly being slammed for being too Liberal, so I appreciate the fact that they haven't completely caved to the pressure (Katherine Kersten, notwithstanding).
