| Local news: How are they doing with the Swift Vets story? |
|
Saw a 'CCO report tonight. They seemed to be doing a good job. Showed clips of the daughters defending Kerry, mentioned the Rood story supporting Kerry, said Kerry earned his medals, played 17 seconds of Kerry's new 'Issues' ad (including the McCain portion, and played the 'no solutions' part without covering up the ad's audio with a voiceover), mentioned Cordier's work with the Bush campaign, and noted that the Bush campaign has not denounced the Swift Vets or their ads.
KSTP was not as good. Their angle was that the ads went too far. For some reason, their video spliced together the Swift Vets ad and Kerry's Rassmann ad, making it look like they were the same ad. They showed a clip of Levin mentioning McCain and bashing the ad. After a clip of O'Neill making no anti-Kerry claims, the audio cut out and they moved on to the story about the theft of the scream painting.
Anyone else seen stories from the local news about the Swift Vets? How was the coverage?

and has a former GOP spokeswomen for an anchor. Don't expect honest treatment there.

Had front page stories for two days, and now evidently again today, "Kerry challenges Bush to denounce vets' attack", "Swift boat accounts fragmented, flawed" and "Behind anti-Kerry vets, a web of Bush connections". Personally I wish they'd (* and Kerry) start dealing with current issues
