Global warming has been taking blame. Some of the variables behind the tornado outbreak -- such as the unusual springtime warmth of the Gulf of Mexico -- are considered to be directly tied to global warming. But other key connections to a warming atmosphere are missing, making the interactions that have produced the storms more difficult to decipher.
The simplest and perhaps least satisfying explanation -- random chance.

Usually when my kids behaved like this I ended the discussion by saying "Because I said so". Most kids grow up and develop some listening, comprehension skills but today's reporters, in my opinion, appear to be stuck at 4th grade comprehension. levels.
Our family example of this was my younger cousin who in 4th grade would not believe that chickens were not baby turkeys and was prepared to stand her ground against the encyclopedia's information.
