I went to a "Wellstone Action" event today, and DFLer Steve Simon, State Rep. of 44A, St. Louis Park, said an outside group sent out a cartoon against his 2004 Republican opponent.

Steve Simon complained that it detracted from his postive message.

Steve Simon said, "I won't say the name of the group, but you can guess who it is."

No, I can't guess. Can anyone here guess the name of the group?

but I received a three or four panel black and white comic strip from, I believe, the AFL-CIO. I don't remember if it was for the Dem or against the Rep, though.

Simon's opponent was a moderate republican, so it makes sense that the righties would try to eat one of their own while simultaneously tarnishing the DFLer.
