| 1. Wow, that's a veritable "Who's Who" of Mpls & MN politics |
|
My current councilmember (Goodman), my state rep (Kelliher), and my former state senator (Spear) are on the list-- as is former Republican councilwoman and talk show host Barbara Carlson!
I wonder if the other Mpls reps and sens have made endorsements?

| 5. I sat across the table from R.T. at the state DFL convention last year |
|
In fact, he lives in my state Senate district, and he most definately did NOT endorse the Shrub.

But Doug Kelly in St. Paul is a lot like his predecessor in that office, Sen. Norm Coleman. Kelly endorsed Dubya in 2004, and didn't get the DFL endorsement last time he ran for mayor (although he won anyway).
IMHO, Kelly will be "officially" out of the DFL within a couple years-- although most DFLers in St. Paul haven't considered him one in years, due to his GOP-friendly stands on the issues.

| 8. except Mayor Randy Kelly is persona non grata in most DFL circles |
|
He openly campaigned for Bush.
Remember Dayton reportedly endorsed Kelly the day before Dayton dropped out, and the huge backlash against Dayton from St. Paul DFLers no doubt played into Dayton's decision.
