Dear KC Iraq Task Force Supporter,
On this day before Thanksgiving I remember the many things for which I give thanks! Many of us here in the U.S. are showered with gifts and blessings…from clean water to relative safety / from a bounty of food and goods to loving family and friends.
But for the people of Iraq the war and violence escalates -November has already surpassed October as the deadliest month in the war-over 1,368 killed.
While you consider the things for which you may be thankful please also think about what you can do to spread the blessings and help bring peace to the people of Iraq.
Thanks you for your support of the work of the KC Iraq Task Force.
Now is a crucial time to begin communicating with the members of the new congress. Every member knows that the winds are changing but they do not know how much.
The election was a mandate for peace but if we, the voters, do not keep up the pressure business will go on as usual.
Please join us this Sunday, November 26, 4pm at 47 & Main at the Iraq Peace vigil and rally. Speakers will include Rev. Gene Augustine, Village Presbyterian Church.
And please also support the Policies of Hope Campaign described below.
Peace,
Ira Harritt
