Joseph Baker has a certain affinity with inauguration day. It's his birthday.
So just a few hours after George W. Bush took the oath of office yesterday, Baker found himself at the wheel of the family's Honda Odyssey van, in line for a motorcade that at times was not unlike the one in Washington, D.C.
The kids, the cold, the tight security, he said, kept him home in Montclair, but it couldn't keep him from "The People's Counter-Inaugural Motorcade."
His van was in a caravan -- about a dozen strong but reaching 18 by one count -- that made its way through Glen Ridge, Montclair, Bloomfield and finally to the federal courthouse in Newark, drawing beeping car horns of support and oftentimes perplexed stares.
