| What to do with this years budget? |
|
What do you guys think will happen with the budget this year? What do you think would be a good way to fix the problem? Or, at least get it going in the right direction. Right now it seems to get worse each year. Here is a decent article I found that kind of sums up the situation : http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3ZjczN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2MDcmZmdiZWw3Zjd2cWVlRUV5eTY2NTMzMDcmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXky

Let's get that Constitutional Convention for tax reform rolling. The goddamned repukes, far in excess of their real power, have been blocking it for too long.

I don't see how that will really help?
Won't that just transfer property taxes onto other forms of taxes? The money will have to come from SOMEWHERE?
I live in a town that doesn't have that high a property tax rate. If they reform property taxes to help out all the people in their McMansions that are paying over 10K in taxes, won't that shift some of the burden from THEM onto people in my town?
To me, the property tax things seems to be a scheme to level out the tax burden, which would hurt the poorer towns and give relief to the richer towns.
