| Our primary will finally mean something in 2008 |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 02:01 PM by Jersey Devil
I read this morning in The Record that both houses of the legislature have passed and Codey is expected to sign a law that changes the date of the NJ Primary to the last Tuesday in February beginning in 2008. I think it is about time that we had a significant voice in the selection of our presidential candidates. | 2. The primaries need to be all during the same week. |

Pick a time - preferably later in the season, to cut down on the money flowing to r/w media - and we all vote together. Politics as usual is no longer the politics of 1960. Later primaries, three day (over a weekend) general election. The next thing could be a careful re-thinking of the slander/libel laws, with an eye to demanding truth in advertising as regards the ads.

Even more reason to look forward to 2008 while keeping our eye on the here on and now.
