I've gotten a few hints of support for showing "Inconvenient Truth" at my movie theater in Vineland, but I've got a very skeptical film booker, who is going to take some winning over.
Here's what I need, and all the help I can get from people in the 856 and 609 area codes would be gratefully appreciated.
(1) Write to us (don't mention my name or anyone's titles, just make it out to the theater itself) at:
DeMarco Cinemas 40 W Landis Avenue Vineland, NJ 08360
Mention your interest in seeing "Inconvenient Truth," encourage us to bring it in. Mention as many verifiable facts about how well the movie has been doing. Be very respectful and polite, and promise to come see it.
If you're a member of a group or organization, get them in on it, too. Especially if you can throw the weight of the organization around. Pledges of block sales of tickets usually help with these decisions.
(2) When we do book it (fingers crossed), PLEASE make good on your promises to come. For us to break even on the film, we'll need about 400 people over its run and the faster we get them in the happier my film booker will be, and the more likely we'll be to do something like this again.
My theater only charges $5.50 for an adult admission, so it's not much of a finanacial pledge (although I won't scream if you buy some popcorn and nachos, too). Plus, we're independently owned and operated, and patronize other local small businesses for most of our supplies, so helping us is helping a number of South Jersey-based small businesses, too, in some small way.
If you're an organization, sponsor field trips to see the movie once we book it. Our rate for groups of 20 or more goes down to $4.00, so it could serve as a good impromptu fundraiser!
(3) If you've already seen it, see it again, whether we book it or not.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
