Joe Piscopo -- Turncoat Democrat or what?

I got home a few minutes ago to find a message on my answering machine.

A recorded message from Joe Piscopo to GOTV...for Thomas Kean. "I'm a Democrat, but I'm voting for Tom Kean..." The message was sponsored by something that sounded like the "Sol and Jerry(?) Society for Justice and Good Government."

Since receiving this message, I've found postings outside of DU to the effect that Joe's been at this all week, in many cases tailoring his message to the large Italian-American community in NJ. This same community has been receiving messages claiming that Menendez "betrayed" Sam Alito. Ugh.

I'll be voting Tuesday, Joe, but it won't be for Tommy's little boy. NFW. I'm a true Democrat.

They sent out a postcard ad this week, I believe only to NJ voters with Italian sounding names, accusing Menendez of "betrayal" of NJ's Italian-American voters because he opposed Alito, one of "our own", for the Supreme Court. BTW, in addition to Piscopo, they also have Mario Andretti calling to tell everyone that Kean is "a friend of Italian Americans."

2. Yes! I saw that one come into the office I worked in. My employer

is Italian and got that postcard. He never saw it; I tossed it with the rest of the Junk Mail :evilgrin:

What was Piscopo's 15 minutes of fame all about.

By the way, do you have an Italian last name. I don't, but my wife does.

4. When I got the call, I thought, "HE'S the best person the Dems could find?"

When he said he was endorsing Kean, I was actually relieved!
