The South Jersey school district that has been showing a film on the diversity of families, including families with same-sex parents, has suddenly pulled the film from its curriculum.
The district, Evesham School District in Marlton, is bowing to those who say they don't want their children "exposed" to LGBTI people. Some of these parents have called LGBTI people "disgusting."
The school district had previously held firm in standing by the film, shown in school across America. Countless educators and child psychologists have praised the film and consider it age-appropriate.
But this past Friday, the school district "suspended" use of the film.
The district cited a poll it took of parents. But here's the irony: The school district's own poll shows that just over 50 percent of the parents want the school to continue showing the film.
