Former Teaneck High School Principal Joseph White was sentenced Friday to a year in jail for engaging a student in graphic sex talk.

"He has been such a mentor to so many of us," said Victor Brown, a pastor at a Teaneck church.
"We have been married for 40 years, and he is the most honorable man I have ever met," said White's wife, Deloris.

White was first charged in 2002 with fondling a 17-year-old student. Backed by dozens of supporters, he was acquitted after a high-profile trial.
He was charged again last year after investigators taped him engaging a student in a sexual conversation at least two separate times. He pleaded guilty in July to official misconduct and child endangerment.
