Democrat Shulman keeping pace with Rep. Garrett in recent fundraising efforts

"Democratic congressional hopeful Dennis Shulman is keeping pace with U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett, R-Warren, in recent fundraising efforts. Both men accepted about $270,000 in contributions from July to September, according to campaign-finance figures reported Wednesday. However, as they head into the final stretch of the campaign, the cash Garrett has left to spend is twice that of Shulman's.
Money also is flowing in Hunterdon County, where Democrat Linda Stender and Republican Leonard Lance are vying for the seat of retiring Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Ferguson. In the past quarter, Stender took in about $681,000, and Lance accepted $522,192.
In recent weeks, Shulman has been trying to connect Garrett, who sits on the House Financial Services Committee, with the economic meltdown. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recently added Shulman to its Red to Blue program, which is targeting 60 competitive races by offering Democratic candidates support with fundraising, communications and strategy...
The stakes are lower in the other congressional district that represents Hunterdon County. U.S. Rep. Rush Holt, a Democrat, raised $191,555, and Republican Alan Bateman received $23,235."
