NJ Election Results by Municipality (MAPS!)

The New Jersey Department of State has FINALLY posted the city-by-city results from November's election. I have begun making maps showing who won where and by how much in each county. I thought some of you may be interested. At the moment they only show the town's colored either blue or red and the percent of the vote the winner took. I am still trying to work out a way to implement the town names and some other things.

So far I've only done the immediate Philadelphia suburbs. Here's Camden, Gloucester and Burlington.

Camden County: Obama 67%, McCain 32% - Population: ~550,000

Those two little dots of red are actually country clubs that have a few mansions on them. I don't think either has more than 20 residents.


Burlington County: Obama 59%, McCain 40% - Population ~500,000

McCain did well in the Southeastern part of BurlCo... too bad nobody lives there. Obama destroyed McCain in the River towns and the suburbs.


Gloucester County: Obama 55%, McCain 43% - Population ~280,000


The rest of South Jersey should be done soon. North Jersey may take a while.

I wanted to post my county (Monmouth) on there.

I know the Asbury Park Press published Monmouth and Ocean county's results and Ocean County did not have a single blue town (Hopefully we will change that)

Monmouth County here. Obama lost the GE but he came closer than Dems usually do here, losing by 12,000 vs. Kerry's 30,000. His coattails helped flip the county Board of Freeholders over to the Democrats.

7. we're working on Monmouth

and I am glad that Amy Mallet (who I've met several times) was able to successfully ride Obama's coattails in November. i was invited to a dinner honoring her victory, but I don't have $75 to spend on that.

There's several organizations that want to turn Monmouth bluer. It will happen in 2012.
