1. That's great. I spent my last 9 years at Rutgers.

I live in China now, but I still like to hear the news. What's your major?

2. Hey there

I am majoring in economics. Did you do graduate study at Rutgers? If so what for??

5. I got my BA in English and Classics

and my MA in English. Didn't make it over to the economics departments too often, but I did get to teach Expos to all the suffering freshmen. :-)

Good to know there are so many DUers with a Rutgers connection.

That class was the bane of my existence when I took it. However, it paid off as my writing skills improved tremendously.

4. Congrats - 2 of my kids went there

One at Rutgers College & the other at Douglass. Great school imo, not appreciated in the immediate area as much as it is in the rest of the country where it is often considered on a par with Ivy schools.

7. There are some great departments within the university.

RU's philosophy program is #1 in the nation.

Polisci, Psych., pharmacy, business are all top notch as well.

It is underappreciated in NJ but revered elsewhere.

I shook Clinton's hand there in 1992. How is the Progressive scene there these days?

I am extremely jealous about you getting to meet Bill during his campaign in '92.

I did see Gov. McGreevy on campus last week, but didn't realize it was him until I passed him by (looks different in person).

The progressive scene is visible, yet not extremely. Douglass college is very active as is parts of Cook and Rutgers College. Don't see much on the other campuses though.
