| Ray McGovern in Boone on Saturday evening |
|
This Saturday, November 5 at 6:30 pm in the Calloway/Macrae Peaks room of the ASU Student Union, Mr. Ray McGovern, will be giving a talk and answering questions.
Mr. McGovern was in the video called "Uncovered: The Whole Truth about the Iraq War."
For 27 years, McGovern served in the Central Intelligence Agency under presidents from John Kennedy through George H. Bush. His duties included chairing the team that put together National Security Estimates and prepared the President's Daily Brief (PDF).
He is a CIA-insider who over the past few years has emerged as one of the most vocal and knowledgeable critics of the politicization of intelligence that led to the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
His insightful critiques have appeared in media sources like The Boston Globe and The Christian Science Monitor, as well as in books and documentary films. This is a rare opportunity for the ASU community to hear first-hand an insider's critique of the failings of U.S. foreign policy.
Supported by the College of Arts and Sciences, the departments of Anthropology, Sociology and Political Science/Criminal Justice and the program in Sustainable Development.
Come on out!
