Mecklenburg board of Elections members unanimously overturned the voter registrations of 321 homeless people Tuesday, upholding a challenge brought by county commissioner Bill James.
James challenged voters registered at the Urban Ministries office at 945 N. College St., and the Charlotte Rescue Mission at 907 W. First St. James said the registrations could not be correct, because the shelters are not permanent residences, and no one may live there.
None of the challenged voters attended the hearing.
