Watch Your Mitakides Signs

I spoke briefly to a Mitakides staffer today before Max Cleland's talk at Sinclair (which I didn't get to see other than for his introduction because I had a class -- a political science class at that). He inferred that the Jane for Congress yard signs have been disappearing. I asked if that meant people were asking for them and the office couldn't keep up with the demand, or... he said he would leave it to my imagination. So methinks there's some theft going on.

Forewarned is forearmed.

1. Unfortunately, I was napping when they canvassed last weekend.

But the good news is a whopping total of five of Jane's yard signs (and one Kerry-Edwards sign) sprang up between Sunday afternoon and Wednesday just on my street (one guy lives at the end of the block and has one on my street and one on the perpendicular street, so it's actually four houses). It's nice, I was beginning to feel like I lived in Republican Valley here, but there aren't any signs for local races, just some yahoos down at the other end of the street with B*/C'04 signs.

Also surprising -- so far, the signs have gone unmolested. I'm waiting for when the Alter High kids do their weekend drinking and decide to go around kicking yard signs for distance, but until then I know who the Dems are on my street! We may try to get one for Mitakides over the weekend, I was sorry I missed her canvassers. Not sorry I contributed to the campaign a few times, though -- obviously they got up off their butts last weekend and did some serious work!
