| What's this about paper thickness of voter reg. forms? |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 07:48 PM by cmorea
I heard that someone in Ohio is trying to disqualify voter registrations because the paper wasn't heavy enough.
True? What's the story here?
on edit: Come to think of it, there's something similar here in Missouri. I think there was some info on a State web site to the effect that you couldn't register online or print out a form to mail in because the paper thickness wouldn't be right. I think Matt Blount, the Secy. of State and candidate for governor would be responsible for this. Oh, shock: he's a puke.
Some kind of puke plan for permanent power?

The story is in the Dayton Daily News. The website is daytondailynews.com, but I'm not sure where it is on the site. You can also link to it at talkingpointsmemo.com.

| 3. Yep, it really is the truth. |

We had a speaker from the Montgomery Co. (Dayton) Board of Elections at our Ohio Women for Kerry meeting and she told us about the special paper that's required and warned us not to make photo copies for registration purposes.
She also wasn't concerned about the backlog of registration forms and said it'll all be taken care of.
Several of us volunteered to help out at the BOE, but she said the issue is way too political, and both parties would have to OK the volunteers; that in itself would take more time than we have before the election. The BOE employs 15 Dems and 15 Repukes; she strongly suggested speaking to a Dem if we have to phone the office for any reason.
Oy!
