Holiday Bowl Champs!

How many watched OU beat Oregon last night? Our Sooners should definitely be ranked after beating the #6 team in the final game of the season.

It's not the Orange Bowl, but this was a good end to a rebuilding season.

what a great win for the end of the season. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it (out on the road, had to listen on the radio) but it sure was an exciting way to end an often frustrating year. :D

3. I was so stoked...

that OU not only knocked out the #6 AP (#5 BCS) team, but that they beat a PAC 10 team. I live in SoCal now, and I get so sick of hearing folks out here talk about how the PAC 10 is the premiere conference and that the Big 12 is weak. I think we showed them -- their top two teams in the bowl games were the ones that lost -- to Big 12 teams!!!

4. I have to admit ...

This very thing fueled the fire of how strongly I supported Texas in the Rose Bowl. I would have supported them anyway -- conference loyalty and all that -- but when I started hearing all the talking heads putting down every team in the Big-12 and then the various fan comments about how the Big-12 was a crap conference and always had been ... well.

I don't rub people's faces in it very often, but in this, well, I've been enjoying myself.

5. I hate the Longhorns...

but I pulled for them over USC.

6. I don't know too many Sooners

who do like the Longhorns, except as a great conference rival. But I was hootin' and hollerin' when the Vince Young sprinted into the endzone with 19 seconds remaining.

It's funny that Texas beating USC gives some of us Sooners a feeling of redemption....
