Let me make it clear It rains in Seattle more than it does here We have lots of fun Raising bananas one by one I must be I must be in Oregon
Sky's hanging low There's a clothes line full of clothes Like your hair all full of rain Like my heart sometimes does
I must be Oh I must be in Oregon
My life it got too wild Down the hole I followed Alice When I needed peace and quiet Well I popped up in Corvallis
I must be I must be in Oregon
If you want a little snow Up to Mt. Hood you can go My baby blows me away In lingerie from Pendleton
I must be I must be in Oregon
Rain rain rain rain rain Rain rain sun rain Rain rain rain rain rain Rain rain rain rain sun
I must be I must be in Oregon
I'm going go up on the Umpqua Catch me a big ol' trout I said I'm going up on the Umpqua And drag his bad ass trout ass out
Well just the other day My friend Jim stopped by to say His old Volvo didn't die It just completely rusted away
I must be I must be in Oregon
Now my baby loves me so Outside we never go We play scrabble by the fire And make love 'til we expire
I must be Oh I must be in Oregon
There's rain down in the alleys Rain down in the street It was raining when we parted It'll rain next time we meet
I must be I must be in Oregon

It's not raining right now, but it has and will. Soon.

It's a great song, I wish I knew who recorded it. It has a slow, bluesy beat and is just this guy with a mellow voice singing with his acoustic guitar. There's a live audience that absolutely cackles on the Pendleton line. That bit about "rain rain rain sun rain" just strikes me as funny for some reason.

| 4. Just saw this...very fun, thanks for posting. |

The Pendleton line (I'm guessing) is because it's Pendleton woolen mills--would make sense, huh? I live in Central Oregon now, where the rain rain rain sun rain is more sun sun sun sun rain sun--but I lived in the valley (as we call it) for a long time, so am well acquainted with that famous Oregon rain. As a previous poster inferred, if it's not raining west of the mountains, it soon will.
A proud Oregonian!

I went to school at U of O. Though I live in Atlanta now, I still think of myself as an Oregonian, and probably always will.
Somehow the idea of Pendleton lingerie makes a scary sort of sense. I'm sure someone, somewhere has thought about it...

| 8. The south coast is one of my favorite parts of Oregon. |

Especially love Shore Acres State Park--what a fantastically gorgeous place. As a long-time state park employee ("parkie"), maybe I'm prejudiced, but I think Shore Acres is the most serene, beautiful, spiritually uplifting place I've ever known. My family has instructions to spread my ashes there when I'm gone. I've only been in the Atlanta airport changing planes once, but I hear it's a lovely city. May your future find you back in your home state soon. My husband (a native) imported me here 37 years ago from Seattle, and I shall be forever grateful for the opportunity to spend the rest of my life here. Just hoping Bush and crowd don't make me split for Canada before they're done. At least it's close and having recently been to Victoria again, I know it's a charming, beautiful place--not Oregon, but I could live there. My heart would remain in Oregon, though.

One of my favorite places. And no one is ever there! Incredible rock formations and lots of surf - Oh yeah!

| 11. Shore Acres really is beautiful |
|
Hard to believe it was once a private estate. Can you imagine allowing such a beautiful place to leave the family? I can't.
I'm not sure if you can scatter ashes at Shore Acres, although you could certainly do it surreptiously in the rose garden area if it was the right season. I've asked to be scattered off Cape Arago, slightly north of Shore Acres. Remember to caution your family on the terrible wind that is a constant presence up there, otherwise, part of you will end up at the dry cleaners...

I've determined that that's probably Greg Brown playing on a compilation called "True Heart", a benefit cd for http://www.inharmony.org/ a non-profit that helps foster kids.
