| What does everyone think for Election 2004? |
|
I know that the election is still a few months away, but what does everyone think about where PA will fall, Bush or Kerry? I'd do a poll, but as someone without a credit card, I can't become a donor.
As an ABB-er, I'm biased towards hoping for a Kerry win in the Keystone State. We're still one of the largest electoral states, despite recent deductions, and a loss here could spell disaster for either candidate. I think right now, Kerry has a slight advantage. Because of increasing penetration into typical-Republican and closed-off communities, as well as the economy and disgruntlement with environmental and foreign policies, people are more likely to question pulling the lever for the Republicans. In my town, which has been featured in history books as an example of the Republican political machine, there is a growing discontent within the youth population and other, more open-minded residents in the town. Although I doubt a new candidate is likely to win for our Representative, I see a high possibilty of increased votes for Dems in the presidential and even senatorial races. In a close election, this could likely provide the difference necessary to Dump Bush.
Your thoughts?
p.s. On a random note, I saw a DemocraticUnderground.com bumper sticker on a local stop sign Monday. I was shocked and froze, but then I grinned. The word is getting out.

| 1. Kerry will take W. PA around Pitt + E.PA around Philly |
|
Bush takes the "T". We win because there are more people in the two met.areas.

I think it will be close then, at the bottom of the 9th we get a big hitter and he or she smacks a homer, causing the repubs to cry like weenies at their loss.

on edit...I didn't realize this was a PA discussion. Bush betrayed PA in so many ways though, from the steel tariffs, to his neglect of the troops which military-rich PA has provided.

I'm here in the T. I hear more and more Anti-Bush sentiment day after day over here.
I'm curious to compare the 2000 vote here in the T against the 2004. I'm not sure if some of these folks are just frustrated and blowing off steam complaining about bush but will still vote for him or if they really will vote for Kerry.
I doubt Kerry will take the T though. Advertising seems to sway this area in a big way and every other commercial is anti Kerry on local TeeVee right now.
As AlinPA said Pitt and Philly will pull the state in for Kerry.
