Solar power course offered to general public in Quonset

The state Energy Office is opening a solar energy class to home and business owners interested in reducing their monthly bills, officials said.

The 40-hour course at the Community College of Rhode Island's Training and Technology Center in Quonset is designed to close the gap.

During the course, students will install solar panels on a makeshift roof and learn how to bolt them to the ground.
