PROVIDENCE -- The General Assembly returned to Smith Hill today, overriding the governor's vetoes of a referendum on a proposed casino in West Warwick and the state budget.
The House voted 47-19, with nine members absent, to override the governor's veto of a bill that asks voters whether a casino can be built in West Warwick, apparently clearing the way for the question to appear on the November ballot.
