| Need some advice - will run my precinct caucus this evening |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-07-06 05:59 PM by sparosnare
I've never done it; never even attended one. Can someone give me a crash course on procedure and what I'll do? All I know right now is that I get a packet this evening - I've glanced at it but that's about it. Was a last minute decision as they asked me when I voted. Thanks!

I've attended them, but never been in charge. Best of luck to you--I'm sure both of our conventions will be great!

Sorry to be late with the news though. I hope you guys had one.

Our Precinct Chair never showed, so those of us who showed up had to pick up the slack and help walk me through the process of organizing the caucus and running the precinct convention (since nobody else volunteered). Hopefully I didn't suck too bad.
But nobody ran against me for PC, so it looks like I get officially sworn in 20 days from now as the new PC. Boy, do I have my work cut out for me - only eight people showed up for the convention.

So we'll both work on our precincts.
Congrats, new PC! Hope to see you at State!

We had 8 dems show up today to vote. Nobody ever shows up at the precinct conventions. I had signs posted all over.

I personally verbally invited every single voter to come back to the precinct convention.

| 16. Well I had 80 voters on election day |
|
and 7 at the precinct convention, so that's less than a 10% turnout for the convention. So yours is about the same, really, you get YOU: that's one. :D
Keep on keepin' on, friend, that's all that you CAN do.

the delegation to the Senate District Convention and be appointed precinct chair. Not what I expected, but I couldn't let the current precinct chair continue to do nothing.

At least those there were somewhat enthusiastic and agreed with all of my resolutions. I accepted precinct chair.
A bit disappointing though; at first, they just wanted to sign in and leave. Maybe because the school had locked the door and were waiting for us to leave so they could turn out the lights.

Me, my spouse, and a loyal Democratic neighbor. We passed all seven of the resolutions we brought, and were done by 7:30!

I was all alone in my precinct. Luckily, I had Glen Maxey's helpful suggestions and attended a workshop.
