I voted yesterday.
My only research was reading the Austin Chronicle endorsements (they're always liberal).
How'd we do...and should I be happy or sad? It was the first time I voted for someone other than the Presidential candidate!

We've got some good candidates for statewide office, albeit not necessarily the most heavily-supported ones here (DUer David Van Os ran unopposed). Hopefully Radnofsky beats perennial candidate Gene Kelly (no, he can't dance) in the runoff.
We went 1 for 2 in the Dem vs. Rep-running-as-dem sweepstakes, one election undecided: former Bush campaigner Henry Cuellar kept his seat in US House Dist. 28 by winning the Dem primary. Frank Madla ("When I get to the Capitol, I lock the Democratic Party in my trunk") lost his primary to Carlos Uresti. DINO Al Edwards went into a runoff in his race.

I would suggest that you supplement your research beyond the Austin Chronicle. I disagreed with them on at least a couple of races.
I voted for Hank Gilbert for Agriculture Commissioner, they endorsed the other candidate Koecadee Melton. They took no endorsement in Pct County Commissioner, I supported Sarah Eckhardt who won.
It's a good start to read their recommendations, but you should also try to hear the candidates themselves and find out from friends or other groups that have heard from the candidates on their positions and issues.

surprise--I knew when it was but forgot about it until the day of. Then, in a mad rush I just voted using the Chronicle endorsements (I do agree with them 90% of the time).
Next time, I'll be better prepared. What was your opinion of the outcome?

We won some good ones, we lost some, and some are still in runoffs and yet to be determined. Like NoPasaran, I'm mad as hell that Barbara Ann Radnofsky ended up in a runoff against a joke of a candidate. It makes us look real stupid in Texas. Gene Kelly is one of those perennial candidates that doesn't even bother to campaign. He's just a clown running on the familiar sound of his famous name. Wish we would stop running in these elections.
Get to know your Senatorial candidate www.radnofsky.com
And please come back to vote in the runoff on April 11th when there will be an even more pathetic turnout that this last time.
