I was at a campaign event today and Lupe told us that her opponent is trying out a little known technicality. apparently if the current sheriff is asked to resign (or is thrown out, I'm not sure) by a petition, his successor can then be appointed. Establishment would then appoint the Republican, of course. She was elated because it shows that her opponent thinks she will win, that he has to resort to trying dirty tricks like this. Heh. Love her style.
