Living in Houston and wanting to sell my home in the future, I've been watching house prices and they are holding their own right now. Some areas are even going up some in price.

but I also think that Texas didn't get caught up much in the mortgage financing (arms, balloons, stated income) fiasco the same as California, Nevada, etc. did. My daughter who works in mortgage absolutely REFUSED to write arms and those other ridiculous contracts because she knew they were a ticking time bomb, and she just didn't feel right doing them.
