Bill White has agreed to speak to our club, and we promised to draw him a good crowd, so we’ll be inviting other westside clubs, and we encourage all of you to invite your friends and neighbors too. You probably know Steve Gross is the SD7 chair and he can send the info out.

Were you at the SD7 convention? If so, there's a list of the SD7 clubs and contact info. Alief Dems are in a different SD, so not in that list, but on the westside. I'm in the West Houston Democratic Club (WHDC) and the Galleria Area Democrats (GAD) and I'll be sure to pass the info along.

I'll certainly try to be there. We had a really good turn out when White spoke to GAD last year, promoting his intention to run for the senate. The more he talked the more disappointed I was that he wanted to be one of 100 voices in the senate. Everything he said made it soooo clear, he's a leader and a born manager, not a junior senator.

2. Cy-Fair Dems have a great group

Been out to their meetings a time or two (my late MIL and FIL's house is in the district). Once actually to hear BAR speak in 2007 when we were trying to get her to challenge Culberson (this was before Michael Skelley came on the scene).

They are a little blue island out there in the Red Sea of northwest Harris County (representation: Culberson/McCaul, Dan Patrick, and one of the statehouse freaks is Patrick sycophant Allen Fletcher -- maybe you have caught wind of his stock fraud shenanigans. Fletcher defeated Corbin Van Arsdale in the last cycle's GOP primary. (Van Arsdale was considered a moderate by Texas Republican standards, thus he had to go. VA received 81% of the vote in 2006's general election. I'm tellin' ya, it's red out there.)

Anyway the Cy-Fair Dems need all the support they can get.
