Can we help this poor abused dog?
I hope this is not against the DU rules.

I also hope you can see the pictures. Please PM me if you want more info. WHAT IS WRONG WITH "PEOPLE"?

http://www.bigdogsporch.com/showthread.php?p=369160

Sweetie had been tied to a tree for three days before she was stoned. Even at the malnourished weight of 76 lbs., she would have been able to chew through the leash or break it. But, hungry and thirsty, she remained by the tree, where you can imagine her hopefully watching for her person to return to untie her and to take her home.

Instead, she was stoned. And then rescued. And then returned to the tree in the park because her rescuer couldn't keep a dog in her apartment. Then, Theresa found Sweetie in the park but she could never find the puppies who were obviously born very recently. Given Sweetie's experience, one can't imagine much good for the newborn puppies.

Sweetie has treated Theresa's dogs with all the ease you'd expect from a nice family member, and she has really touched Theresa's heart. But, three dogs is more than Theresa can manage, so Sweetie is looking for a great foster or a home. This is urgent. Theresa cannot keep Sweetie much longer.

1. >>WHAT IS WRONG WITH "PEOPLE"?
Anyone who would stone a dog is not my definition of people. I wish we could take her, but we just can't. I will forward this to my small mailing list.

2. Thanks so much
This stuff just breaks my heart. We "shouldn't" take her because we are fostering Pyrs with similar stories now and my son brought home a motherless mixed breed pup three weeks ago (in the kitchen in his bed right now).

I'm trying to find out who those kids were. While initially I feel like opening a can of whoopass on them, it won't do any good. But I really think they need to be held responsible and have their community service set to something that might spark a little humanity toward animals.

This is just horrible. Thanks for forwarding.

3. Thank you for trying to find those little monsters
Maybe they can be shown the error of their ways.

I have sent an e-mail out to some animal friendly households, and posted on my FB page.... I will try to help get the word out - this is horrible.
