HA! HA! A few hundred!!!
How pathetic!!!

http://news8austin.com/content/top_stories/270276/tea-party-rallies-under-way-around-texas

A couple hundred tea party activists rallied at the Capitol in Austin Thursday morning. It was the first of several events hosted by conservative groups around the state.

Among those gathered on the south steps were Republican state representatives Leo Berman, of Tyler and Wayne Christian, of Center.

Before anyone addressed the crowd, a man who identified himself as a former Baptist minister gave a fiery prayer that said the nation is under siege “by enemies abroad and domestic.”

One man in the crowd was carrying an AK-47 that he said was unloaded and perfectly legal. A state trooper stopped the man, examined the weapon and let him continue walking.

Later Thursday afternoon, former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich addressed about 300 conservative tea party activists at an Austin hotel. They chanted “Newt” when a moderator asked if he planned to run for president in 2012, but Gingrich dodged the question.

After speaking and signing a document called the “Contract For America,” he said he didn't know if he'd run. Activists touted the contract, a 10-part pledge that some activists are asking elected officials to sign.

Gingrich is well-known for his support of the Contract With America that helped Republicans recapture Congress in 1994.

At 5:45 p.m., Debra Medina is expected to speak at a rally held by the Texans for Accountable Government.

2. Plus Perry was too scared to show
He was in Austin too. But he's has to try to be "normal" and move back to the center from his right wing run in the primary. It really is tough for him. These are his people after all. He misses them so. :)
