1. No - they are up for a vote in May
But we expect the vote to be the same. Remember that McLeroy and his crazy wing including Cynthia Dunbar are still on the current SBOE. They have a block vote to force the vote to be the same.

Texas Freedom Network is always the best source of information on SBOE matters:

2. So, Perry has the authority to send them back to the drawing board, right?
But of course he won't do that. So, if White is elected, can he make them go back to committee and start over? I'm just having trouble accepting that this could actually happen....that we could become the laughing stock of the country.
Thanks sonias!

3. The new board takes office in January
They could take up the issue again if they choose to do so. The Governor can only make the Chair appointment and then the Senate confirms his appointment. Perry tried to reappoint Don McLeroy in 2009 and the Senate Democrats blocked the appointment. He then lost his election but gets to serve until Dec of this year.

So Perry appointed Gail Lowe to the Chair position in the recess period, and she's pretty much been the female version of McLeroy.

5. Mr and Mrs crazy then
No surprise that they support Perry and that he supports their views.

Texas republicans are the worst.

6. Printed pages of pictures of "aborted fetuses" once.
Several years back, I had a big fight with him about printing my name in the paper with MRS. as a title. He said it was accepted journalism practice (in the 50's maybe). Printed it his way, of course. Will not look at that right wing rag any more so do not know if he is still insisting on that piece of paternalistic garbage.

8. Good question. I always thought he was the owner/editor, but
I have never taken the time to research it any deeper. Just knowing that he is the scumbag freak running the thing is enough for me.
