1. Jim and I are both delegates.

We plan on getting there early Thursday afternoon. We're staying at one of the Omni hotels. Not the "offical" TDP location, but the one about two blocks away.

Attending my SD caucus and splitting that evening. Not sure I can handle a second day of speeches about how great it is to be a Texas Democrat.

Ginny would haunt me from beyond the grave if I didn't go. Besides, I also have to preside over the Gun Owners Caucus, and if I want to serve another term as Chair, I'd darn well better show up.

I will most definitely miss Ginny while I'm down there, though. She was so excited about heading back to the Gulf, catching some waves, seeing the dolphins, etc. I could certainly use some running buddies if anyone is free.

I was looking at the HI Express on SPID. I've stayed there before & liked it. Either way, it's not much of a drive to get downtown from there.

Not sure if I met any DUers, but my husband and I talked to a lot of cool people on all sorts of topics, ranging from Las Brisas to American history and Irish politics.

Your progressive center is way cooler than ours in Dallas; I mean, ours is cool in a loft-apartment style "cool," but your progressive center is cool in a 1970s hippy-style cool, a 2-story frame house with interesting conversation going on in every room of the house, from a live blues band in the front room, to food in the kitchen (loved the figs and veggies), and great conversation everywhere.

Several people came in late, after attending the official TDP event, and all agreed that your event was 'way cooler, and with better food and drinks! Well done, everybody who put it together.
