No joke: Joe the Plumber is now an elected official
(snip)
Welcome to the idiocracy . Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher has won a seat on a Republican Party committee in Ohio. According to the Associated Press : The group he’ll serve on meets only a few times a year to elect the county chairman and sets the Party agenda. Wurzelbacher won the seat by a 38-24 vote Tuesday in his suburban Toledo precinct.

2. This one is rich
If we're being accused of being criminals, we want to be tried by a jury of our peers- wealthy execs who don't give a damn. #fairisfair about 19 hours ago via Twitterrific

5. BP Twitter Spoof Generates $10K For Gulf Helpers
Huffington Post 6/2/10

NEW ORLEANS — A spoof on BP's oil spill public relations has brought in $10,000 for a nonprofit conservation group for the Gulf of Mexico

Gulf Restoration Network official Aaron Viles says the person who has been tweeting as "BPGlobalPR" put $10,000 into the organization's PayPal account Wednesday. And Viles says there's a promise of more if the tweeter's T-shirts satirizing BP keep selling.

(snip)

The creator has refused to be named in media interviews. He sells $25 T-shirts emblazoned with a black BP logo and the smudged words "bp cares." He says all proceeds go to the Gulf Restoration Network.

7. Yes it is
Great entertainment feed plus people want to help somehow - and they do what they can.

I liked his description of the Leroy Stick
Leroy Stick – the man behind @BPGlobalPR

If you think the point of this story is to beat dogs with sticks, then I’m guessing you probably still think I work for BP as well.

The point of this story is that if someone is terrorizing your neighborhood, sometimes it’s alright to grab a stick and take a swing. Social media, and in this particular case Twitter, has given average people like me the ability to use and invent all sorts of brand new sticks.

8. Here's another quote from BP rep Randy Prescott:

“Louisiana isn’t the only place that has shrimp.”

Here’s Randy’s office phone number: (713) 323-4093 (713) 323-4093 and his email: randy.prescott@bp.com

Let's let him know that BP isn't the only place that has fuel.
