| Do you live in an area with no intelligent life? |

I moved to east texas and it's bad here.
We have to go to Houston or Dallas every few weeks to get our sanity back and get away from all Jeebus all the time.
I have no white friends because all the rednecks hate Obama.
However they can never tell me exactly what he has done to take away their freedoms.
:wtf:

If you want to develop a rapid appreciation for those Texas cities, try living in Denver for a while. Talk about social and intellectual desolation.....

That must be tough. I would go crazy if I had to deal with that everyday of the week.
I wish you the best in keeping your sanity. Do whatever you need to to keep it.
I would find myself probably reading a lot if I were imprisoned.

Although I'm technically in Houston, I live in the extreme N.E. suburbs and it is 90% hardcore repub. In addition, I've had 8 close friends move out-of-state in the past 5 years so I feel isolated too.
I hear you loud and clear.

http://www.kingwoodareademocrats.org/Mi blog hermano Stace Medellin is one of the leaders of that mafia. Is that close enough for ya? 'Cause there's some more in Montgomery County (if you need 'em).

Donna was from Palestine and about 3 days was the maximum we could put up with it.
My theory is that the combination of red dirt dust and pine tree fumes does something to their brains.

"red dirt dust and pine tree fumes". I wonder if we could prove some connection.
But put this another way - Donna grew up there and she was not crazy. So obviously intelligent people can grow up there. I'm thinking it has more to do with being a follower type personality. And people there just follow what the majority of that community does - even if it's stupid.
So happy she escaped the crazy. You can at least say she lived her days in a more sane environment in Austin.
 for Donna.

(Groceries).
Oh, we have arrived. We're repainting the house and somebody asked our carpenter if a bunch of Mexicans had moved in there!!! I think it's fairly tasteful, myself. I picked out the colors.
 They haven't seen anything yet!!
Guess these people are so scared of being different because someone might say something to them, and being different is BAD.
They haven't seen the foo dogs, the Tibetan prayer flags, the gargoyles or anything else that's weird we can use to baffle 'em.

You keep raising those different color flags (prayer flags) and beating your own drums out there too, but be safe.

(bells, windharps) if you want 'em. The windharps alone would drive them crazy
And your house is indeed in tasteful colors. It would work even in the burbs :D
Too bad you didn't paint it orange with purple trim, like a house nearby here (semi-SW Houston.) ;)

| 12. I live in north Harris County - and it's red here |
|
but not entirely.
Cracked up my mom yesterday. She saw a bumpersticker on the GIANT SUV in front of us on the road.
Read "TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK"
What's that MEAN? she asked. THERE'S A N***** in the White House, I answered. Yes, they are insane and redneck, and terrified of Obama.
It's so sad and pathetic sometimes I just shake my head. Some of it is liberal vs. conservative - but it's far worse with Barack than it was with Bill. So some of it just seems like racial hate.
Still, I pray for purple while living in the red.
Hang in there.

which is sad because you live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I'm not "quite" that far down the digestive tract...but very close. I hear the anger of "what we've lost"...the tea party talk...and wonder how the hell these people didn't see it WHEN it was actually happening (under bush). We live on a powder keg here in the piney woods. I fear we will see it explode before it is all over.:(
