Talk radio hosts say Rick Perry needs to debate

On Shane Warner's conservative talk radio show on News Talk 1230 this morning, Bill talked about his success as mayor enacting aggressive energy efficiency measures while making Houston a nationwide leader in job growth.

(snip)Shane and Bill then discussed Rick Perry's failure to pay attention to issues facing Texas. Working an average of seven hours a week, Bill said, just isn't giving Texans what they deserve from their governor. Shane and Bill then discussed the need for a gubernatorial debate.

"I think it says a lot about a politician whether they are willing and how willing they are to talk to people unfiltered. And look, Bill White has been nothing but available," Shane said. "...What is Rick Perry hiding?"

Later this morning, conservative radio host Mark Davis echoed Shane's remarks on his own WBAP program while talking about last week's League of Women Voters debate in Kerrville. "If Rick Perry won't debate Bill White, I will," Mark joked.

Lots of Texans are stepping up to call Perry a chicken!
