No, the November election hasn't arrived just yet, but Sessions has definitely checked out:

Both Texans in the House Republican leadership have jumped aboard the new Tea Party Caucus: Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions and Round Rock Rep. John Carter both announced today that they are joining the group, founded by tea party darling Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.

Sessions has been bat shit crazy since day 1. And he's not alone in the Tea Party Republican Congressmen. It's the usual suspects from Texas. Only Carter and Sessions are mentioned but do you doubt that the rest of the crazy R's from Texas are right there with them too.

Yes Sessions sucks, but so does every other Republican Congressman from Texas.

...is that Sessions defeated a Tea Party challenge in the GOP primary, and now he wants to be counted with the teabaggers.

Carter used to be my rep. Williamson County is unfortunately not Keep-It-Weird Austin. (One Wmson city's motto is "Keep It Mildly Unusual.")

Williamson County is so the straight laced family member in the Central Texas family. That's OK, you know that the Austin weirdness is spilling over to Williamson County and the next generation of kids are going to make it more unusual.

But so far, my congressman has not joined this ridiculous group. Considering my district (TX 13) is tied with one in Alabama as the reddest district in the nation, that's kind of amazing.

16. when the districts are redrawn in 2012, Sessions may be out

many people believe that DeLay violated the VRA considering that there is only one Democratic seat in the entire metroplex. I could see parts of Eddie Johnson's district getting glued to his which could cause him to get voted out.

We know Texas will get more Congressmen/women (districts) but the devil is in the details.

A fair redistricting process would give those extra 3 districts to areas of high growth and should likely go to minority communities. But this is Texas after all, and we have a repuke controlled legislature that gerrymandered the last redistricting. Think Tom DeLay, Tom Craddic and Rick Perry - the usual suspects.

Unless we can win back the Lege or take a high state office (Governor) to make the process fair, I expect the TX repukes will be up to their usual gerrymandering shenanigans.
