I emailed him about my concerns about disruptive voters. I have been a witness and even had one of the disruptor's to call me an Election Nazi for telling him to stop talking about 'he's had ALL the change he can handle' of course the republicon presiding judge doesn't EVER tell these guys they are in violation of the law by what is considered electioneering inside the polling place. When I notified the Elections Office later I was told I could have called the police. Who knew, I certainly didn't know this.
So, I emailed the Admin about what can be done and how I thought it should be a part of our training program. He was under the impression that it was already addressed in the training. I informed him since becoming Precinct Chair that I don't recall it ever being addressed. I also mentioned that these disruptor's were coming unhinged and it probably has never been an issue before. But because we have our first black president the racists are making themselves known. He said he would review the program and thanked me for addressing the issue.
Then later in the week it has come to my attention that voter intimidation is presenting itself within the polling place by "poll watchers" and are here in Houston, Texas and in predominately minority polling locations. I just sent the Election Admin an email about this as well.
I called our county elections office and spoke to someone who I sorta developed a friendship with during the 08 elections to tell her about what was happening in Houston. She was not aware of what was happening down there. When I informed her these intimidators were actually poll watchers and that they claimed they were not working for the republicon party, she told me that they have to have a party or candidate authorizing them to be there.
I also just spoke to someone at the Houston Democratic Party about this issue and she said if anyone was interested in coming down to Houston they could use Poll Watchers. Several people have already volunteered to be poll watchers to watch the other poll watchers. They are also documenting all complaints. So, if anyone here wants to help out here's their email:
