Poll question: Okay Texas, what do your guts tell you about the election?
What are you really expecting the results to be?

I'm taking it for granted that the Texas Senate is out of reach. Chet Edwards and Ciro Rodriguez have tough races, and if the Slag is to be believed even Lloyd Doggett may be in danger :scared: .

Feel free to comment with your own scenarios of glory or disaster.

1. It's Texas, I'm too afraid to even speculate.
I guess my gut tells me to not expect sanity in this state, but I'm afraid to officially vote and predict that. It's like, I know the Cowboys are done for the season, but if I don't really admit that, I can still have fun watching them a little longer. :(

3. I hope to God I'm wrong
But I don't believe we'll win AG and Lt. Gov. I do feel Perry won't win again. God can't hate us that much.

The rest, I just don't know enough to speculate.

6. I just don't know where Perry's getting support from
I just don't know how anyone could vote for him.

I had a talk with a good friend of mine that's conservative, but she said there's no way she's voting for Perry. It came up because I was asking if she had voted yet, but that if she was voting for Perry she might as well skip it this year. :)

7. As a very wise friend of mine says
"The poll of everyone you know has a large margin of error."

I don't know anyone who's voting for Perry but no doubt there's a lot of them out there.

8. I know there's some out there
But I'm just dumbfounded anyone would vote for him.

9. My Political Sensors Are Having Software Problems
My political sensors are having software issues. I really can't tell which Democrats are going to keep their seats or oust Republicans in the light of the corporate media hoopla and right-wing propaganda.

It ain't over 'til it's over, and it's best that I keep my predictions to myself.

As I see it, we're still on the long march back to where we were back in the 1980's when we could confidently elect guys like Mark White as Governor, and we still have a long way to go, even if Bill White beats Slick Rick.

11. Well, with the results in
It looks like DREAM TEAM ALL OVER AGAIN wins the prize, such as it is. I was a little optimistic, the one vote for holding our current position.

12. The Long March Resumes
I suspect our long march to where we were back in the 1980's (Although the Promised Land will be without the likes of Rick Perry, Dick Armey and Phil Gramm in our ranks) will resume after we pick ourselves off the floor.

I had hoped we'd maintain our seats in the Texas house, but it looks like we lost some yesterday.

13. You hit the right sentiment square on
This is like turning back the clock to 1990 redistricting battle in Texas. It was pretty ugly then and it's going to happen all over again.

No, actually it's going to be much, much worse. Because they have complete control of the Texas House, the Texas Senate, all major statewide offices and oh they have big corporate money in their pockets.

And they get 4 more U.S. Congressional seats in Texas to gerrymander for their evil packing.

We are so screwed.

15. I feel SO sad about this.
 but we will fight on. The tide will turn. We are a minority dominant state and eventually we are gonna get our votes to count. I wonder how many were disenfranchised?

Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 06:58 PM by NoPasaran
I say fuck 'em. I hope the republicans do their worst in fucking up this state because that's what these idiot fucking fucks of voters wanted. Fuck them! As Mencken said "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." Well nobody deserves it more than the pathetic fucking morons who vote in this fucking fuckhole. Fuck them all!

I've fucking had it with these fucking fucks and I approve this message.
