Electoral College delegates from Texas vote for Bush

"AUSTIN, Dec. 14, 2004 - Texas officially elected George W. Bush president of the United States on Monday as 34 Electoral College delegates unanimously cast their votes for their home-state Republican."

Before the Texas Electoral College members met, protestors asked delegates to delay casting their votes until the state recounted its votes with bipartisan oversight and investigated all electronic voting systems, one protestor said.

The protestors were asked to leave House Chambers, one of their representatives said.

2. Hooray for Kip... dissident 'til the end!!!

Good stuff... I was there with Kip at the capitol that day and I was afraid that the media was gonna misprint or "spin" the fact that they were asked to leave... They weren't escorted off by capitol police or anything like that. Although, afterwards a capitol police officer did come and talk to us. He said he wouldn't issue a trespassing citation (that's nice, I thought!) because he didn't believe we did anything wrong. He stayed and talked with us for awhile and turned out to be really good-natured guy. He was also fairly knowledgeable about our cause and other activist activities...

Kip was also interviewed after the electors convened, but I'm not sure who the reporter was with or if the story will be printed. I know she was with AP, but it all comes down to whether or not her editor chooses to run the story. If the editor does, we need to push the AP wire piece to any news outlet that will pick it up.
