I don't think he would have helped the ticket much, despite his military background, because he also has little federal level or governing experience. There are many other candidates out there. And, it is very important that we hold onto his Senate seat, and pick up the one for which Mark Warner is running. Regardless of who wins the Presidency, we must increase the # of seats in Congress.

I'd rather have him fighting in the Senate as our Senior Senator with Mark Warner as our Junior Senator.
