their power back until Christmas.
Damn, damn, damn!!!
Edited to add: I don't live in the Duvall area, and only lost my power for about 10 hours. But one of my DU friends lives in Duvall. I called her the other night and left a message, but haven't heard bacl from her, which makes me think that she is still without power. x(
This sucks.

| 1. OMG, that's horrible!! |

I hope that Julie has gone and sought shelter somewhere else, maybe that's why she hasn't gotten the messages left for her.
This is just terrible and really illustrates how ill prepared we are for disasters like this. No one should have to go without power for this long. x(

is like being in one of those 1970s disaster movies -instead of Earthquake, think Northwest Wind Storm. Huge trees are being held up precariously by power lines and many power lines/transformers are down, either partially or fully and on the roads. Many of my neighbors went out on Friday and used their chainsaws to get some of the giant trees off of the roads and they placed homemade detour signs. Just last night, I saw the first power trucks out on our roads. I've never been so happy to see a flagman!
PSE said on their website that Duvall proper may get their power back tonight though there will be isolated pockets of folks who won't have it back until later. They didn't even mention us up in the hills so I think the Christmas prediction is about spot on. My stepson is autistic and he has been in Texas this week visiting his mom. I am so hopeful we will have power by the time he gets back because he is not good at change and being in a relatively cold, definitely dark house will not make him happy. He and his dad will be back on Christmas day so I have all my fingers and toes crossed that they will actually make that deadline.

| 3. Several areas near me will not get power back soon, either. |

We just got ours back. Sucks a lot, but some communities are really reaching out to help. And it seems the least affluent areas of my town are the most helpful and community minded and neighborly in all this. Our entire upscale tract was without power for 5 days, and not one neighbor checked in with anyone else to make sure they were okay.. even tho some neighbors had generators and heat and lights. I've heard that other, older neighborhoods, people with a good fireplace or generator were inviting neighbors over to warm up.
